Background

Toni Morrison born as Chloe Anthony Wofford on  February 18th , 1931 in Lorain, Ohio; is an American professor editor, and novelist. She is the second oldest out of four children to George and Ramah Wofford. She married Harold Morrison (an architect from Jamaica) and had two sons; Harold and Slade. Mr. and Mrs. Morrison divorced in 1964.

Education

Morrison graduated from Lorain High School with honors and continued her education at Howard University. While at Howard, she majored in English and graduated in 1953. She then received her masters at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, 1955.
